Cyanotype printing is a significant medium for the visual representation of the effects of sea-level rise on atoll islands. The gradual fading of its chemical reagents over time mimics an “erosion” by the surrounding sea, thus imparting a sense of temporality to the static images. Additionally, I used silk to depict the fluidity of the ocean and the unstable nature of territories.
