Given my six years of architectural study, I came to see that architecture works as an emotion that precedes language: built landscapes possess a personal standpoint and narrative, and participate in the resonance of a given society. Architecture is not an ultimate state of completion, but a process of continuous socialization; it is more like a catalyst, a starting point that will generate spontaneous behavior and social changes.
My own interests lie in ecology and urbanism. When we speak of the environment itself, we address it as the aggregate of objects, conditions, and influences that constitute the constructed surroundings. Environmental scope, to me, informs many crucial contemporary issues from climate change and global inequality to digital ubiquity and the influence of large socio-technical organizations. Information flows of financial, legal, or military nature congeal into wide arrays of strange ‘spatial products,’ extraterritorial ‘zones’ and building nodes. I really enjoy and try to extract a space, a shape, a marking, from mixes of elements rarely brought together—whether materially or conceptually. Also, the journey of establishing (actually discovering) the connections between things that seem to be totally irrelevant fascinates me, like an advanced puzzle game.
